Peopoly Giga 800: Large-Format Pellet Printer Enters General Sale

1 min read

Peopoly opened general sales of its 800 mm-cube Giga 800 FGF printer on October 22, starting at $15,000 and adding laser-assisted leveling after early-adopter feedback.

What changed this week

The Giga 800 was first shown earlier in 2026; the October 22 news is the opening of general sales. Based on early-adopter feedback, Peopoly added laser-assisted bed leveling. The system measures the 800 × 800 mm surface, builds a height map and compensates for deviations while printing.

Pellets instead of spooled filament

The printer uses Fused Granulate Fabrication, feeding thermoplastic pellets through a screw extruder rather than conventional filament. It offers an 800 × 800 × 800 mm build volume and a manufacturer-rated output of up to 3 kg/h, depending on the material and conditions. Motion uses closed-loop servo CoreXY hardware, while the workflow draws on Klipper and OrcaSlicer.

Who should care?

Pellets can lower feedstock costs for large molds, jigs and industrial fixtures, although surface finish, layer size and finishing needs differ from fine-filament printing. The $15,000 figure is a starting manufacturer price, not a fully installed and tax-paid total.

Commodore 64 Ultimate Returns: A Retro Legend, Not a 3D-Printed One

Commodore.net has officially relaunched its legendary home computer as the Commodore 64 Ultimate, rebuilding the classic machine on modern FPGA hardware. We cover it here as a curiosity: it has no direct 3D printing angle, since the case is produced with classic injection molding using the original 1986 tooling, not 3D printing.

Bambu Lab: construction advances on a planned 3-million-printer Shenzhen hub

Bambu Lab is taking a major step toward building one of the world's largest 3D printer manufacturing bases. Its planned “3D Printing Intelligent Manufacturing Headquarters Base” in Shenzhen's Guangming District has moved into site-preparation and construction-access work. The complex is designed for an annual capacity of more than 3 million 3D printers and will combine manufacturing with research and development, component production and materials-related activities.
